2nd Sunday Series
September 12, 2010

Theoren Hanks

Picture
Wow! It was an amazing demo. Theoren is pretty amazing and so very focused for a 10 yr old. Here are some highlights from the demonstration held on Sunday, September 12th. We also held a live auction of Theoren's pieces as he was creating them. Thanks to Theoren's parents, Brandon and Michelle, we have posted a few YouTube videos from the event.
Theoren began blowing glass in early 2008 at eight years old. It all began in Benicia, California when he was taken to the studio operated by artists Michael Nourot and Anne Corcoran.

Theoren now works at Public Glass in San Francisco and his talents continue to grow. He has become increasingly passionate about glass and already has an eye on the most prestigious glass schools around.

Recently, Theoren entered three of his works of glass in the California State Fair. He took first place with his Mardi Gras bowl and River Creek vase. He also took second place with his Fish cup! He was also the recipient of the Viewer's Choice Award at the sixth annual Public Glass Artist's and Artisan's benefit auction.
