October 2012

Abhilasha Natarajan  Fusing

Picture
Abhilasha Natarajan has promoted art within the San Joaquin County area for the past 11 years. Teaching workshops and creating glass art have been Natarajan’s main focus. She has been the primary glass instructor at The Grand Theatre Center for the Arts since 2007 and looks forward to coming as a guest teacher to the Bay Area Glass Institute (B.A.G.I.) in October 2012.

She has studied with Patty Gray, Karl Harron and Catharine Newell; and has been inspired by works of Judith Conway, Linda Ethier, Andrew Goldsworthy Robert Leatherbarrow and recently Carrie Iverson.
The course she taught was designed for the beginner and intermediate glass student. It gave the beginner student an opportunity to learn basic cutting, fusing and cold working skills. Intermediate and beginner students alike expanded their abilities to work with commonly used glass materials, tools, accessories. They also learned how to create designs on both back and front of a piece.
