Studio Relocation Info

BAGI has moved to History Park in San Jose! After 15 years at our Taylor Street location we are sad to say goodbye to Japantown and the studio that we have called home for so long. But we are also very excited about the possibilities that await us in our new facilities. We know this move is a great opportunity for our organization to grow. We hope you will join us in our new home.

On this page we will keep you updated on our progress and share some fun pics along the way.

The Future Building
While we are operating out of interim facilities at the park, below is the plan for the final structure. It will be larger than our Taylor Street facility, and accommodate twice as many people.

Grand opening night
We would like to thank everyone who came to the grand opening night at History Park. Treg and Matt held the first public demos in the new hotshop and made a couple of intricate wine glasses, and one tweezed horse. A retrospective history of BAGI was displayed in the Pacific Hotel, with a look toward the future for BAGI.

We would also like to thank the staff at History San Jose, who were in attendance and who helped facilitate much of the event. We look forward to a great relationship. Thanks also to all of our volunteers who keep coming out to support BAGI and to keep the glass arts alive in the South Bay.
Construction of the interim facility at History Park San Jose
We are thoroughly amazed at how giving our volunteers have been. In a remarkably short time, a shed was converted to our new hotshop, and temporary buildings for flameworking and fusing were placed around a large courtyard.
