Mobile Hot shop campaign
fundraising goal: $20,000

Picture
Remember being in school and getting excited for an assembly?  Any assembly,  it didn’t matter the topic. The Principal could have been reading from the school manual and you didn’t care as long as it got you out of class.  Well, now think how exciting it would have been if the assembly was an educational glassblowing demonstration. Imagine how exhilarating it would be to see glass artists sculpt 2000 degree molten glass on the end of steel rods. How cool would it be if your design were chosen and the glass team created a masterpiece in glass inspired by your drawing of a Pink Pterodactyl?

We are planning to do just that. BAGI wants to bring the age-old craft of glass blowing to the next generation with a Mobile Hot Shop. We will use the funds from this campaign towards the building of the Mobile Hot Shop and bring to the community. When BAGI rolls up to a school or an event with the Mobile Hot Shop, our glass artists teachers will educate, demonstrate and include the children as well as the adults in hands-on activities.

The Mobile Hot Shop is an exciting new venture that will enable us to share the joys of glass with people and classrooms throughout the Bay Area. Our mission is to educate, excite and enable people to create and explore with glass. We will offer a variety of programming that will encourage
audience participation as well as hands-on activities.  We already have organizations ready to work with us to bring the Mobile Hot Shop to their students and a business model that will make the hot shop self-sustaining after we get it up and running.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 to put towards the total of$30,000, which is what it will cost to build a basic Mobile Hot Shop. We have already raised $7,000 from our Board and other supporters. We are hoping to have the Mobile Hot Shop up and running by the beginning of winter 2012.
This is why we need your help!

Any contribution is greatly appreciated!  Thank you in advanced for helping to
enable BAGI to bring the magic of glass out of the studio and to the people.
