GLASS CLASSES FOR KIDS!

Summer is perfect for exploring new things! Come and explore glass at BAGI!

Kids Glassblowing

Ages: 7 and up

Description: This exciting, fun-filled class will introduce students to the art of glass blowing through a number of hands on exercises. Students will learn basic glass blowing skills while creating their very own flower, paperweight, ornament, and drinking glass or vase. Instructors will closely guide the students in the creation of each project. Kids will be provided with proper safety instruction and equipment. All supplies are included. 

Fee : $250

July 10:      10am - 2pm 
August 8:    10am - 2pm

Max # students : 5
Min # students  : 3
If we do not meet the minimum # of students, we will cancel the class.

Glassblowing for Kids the Next Level

Ages: 7 and up

Description: In this class students will build upon the skills they learned in their first class, and really get a hands on experience with hot glass!  They will learn the foundation skills of what it takes to begin making hollow forms, the base shape for vases, bowls, and more. Students will get to take the lead, gathering glass from the furnace and shaping that glass with various tools, to create their final form. Through teamwork, students will learn the basic steps to make there own creations from beginning to end. With a rainbow of colors and friends old or new, they will love working together in this next step in glass blowing!  With the instructor's help they will experience something they can share with family and
friends.

Fee : $250

Parent and Child Fusing Experience
Ages: 5 and up

Description: You and your child will
spend up to 4 hours sharing a glass making experience  together in a safe,
relaxed environment without the added heat like our  Glass Blowing 101 and 102
classes. Together you and your child will  create either a plate, sun catcher or
4 coasters with a wide variety of  colored flat glass. You'll learn how to
safely cut glass to create your  unique design! We will fire the glass and have
it ready for you to pick  up in a few
days.

Fee: $100 per pair

Pre-requisites: None
Dates:
June 10: 10am - 2pm
July 8:     10am - 2pm
August 5: 10am - 2pm

Max # of students: 10 pairings of parent and child.
Min # of students : 6 pairings
If we do not meet the minimum # of students, we will cancel the class.

Flameworking
Ages: 10 and up

It's summertime and a great time to try something new!  Bring your kids to
Bay Area Glass Institute for a taste of glass behind the torch, in our
flameworking studio.  Each student will learn the fundamentals of flameworking a glass bead, working with a treasure chest of colors!  We will work with a metal rod called a mandrel, and melt glass in the flame, to wrap around this rod and create a bead.  These beads can be later used in a jewelry design, or as an embellishment on a picture
frame or anything else you can think of!  No experience required! 

Fee: $225

Payment is required upon registration. We accept Visa, MasterCard & personal checks if received 2 weeks prior to
the scheduled class.


Cancellation Policy:
 Cancellations made at 7 days prior to the first day of a class will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made 3 days prior to the first day of class will be issued a 50% refund. In the event that BAGI were to cancel a class(es) a full refund, for the class(es) will be
issued.

Liability: Students must be 10+ years of age for glassblowing related classes. Students must be 10+ years of age for flameworking & kilnworking related classes. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a BAGI issued liability release form. Students must inform BAGI, at the time of registration, if they have special
requirements due to health related conditions.
