Two Day Green Art Project workshop
with Steven Addi

Pre-requisites: Fusing 1a or equivalent

 
Friday

The importance of recycling glass and the impact that art glass has on the planet. Discussion and theory on using more efficient ways to operate a hot glass or fusing studio. Discuss different methods of taking advantage of resources in the community.   

Practical methods of transforming broken, damaged or used glass products in the studio, each student will begin design and create one work of art using recycled glass. 

The student will go through the all the steps required to create their first piece that will be completed by the end of the class. If time allows the class will complete an additional work during the session.

Saturday

The class will work on continue to work on pieces from day 1 with more emphasis on cold working techniques that work well with recycled glass, like cutting shaping, sandblasting, slumping, repairs and more. Students  will then review finished products discuss problems associated with creating the works, as well as other efficient ways to create art glass and objects de art. Completed projects will be photographed and shown to future classes.
