Glass Snippet — Japantown Inspired Classes
LIMITED TIME ONLY!

April through June

Glass Snippets – Want to try glass, but don’t want to make a time and money investment? Then our glass snippet classes are for you! These two hour classes give you an idea of what it is like to work in the hot shop, fusing or flameworking studios. Warning: Snippet classes lead to a love of glass and wanting to learn more! Register for two or more snippet classes and receive 10% off total. If registering for more than one snippet class please call 408-993-2244 to receive discount.

Sake Bottles

Create a custom sake bottle.  You will safely work with a BAGI instructor while you turn a steel rod with 2000°F of molten glass on the end and use basic glassblowing techniques. (The sake bottle will need to be picked up days after the class, as blown glass needs to cool slowly in an annealing oven.)


No pre-requisites.

Sushi Trays

Everyone needs a place to put their sushi! Create a sushi tray. In this two hour fusing class you will learn how to cut and grind glass. The tray is then put into the kiln to fuse or "melt"  together. (The sushi tray will need to be picked up days after the event, as the glass needs to be fired in the kiln and coldworked)


No pre-requisites.

Floral Beads

Learn to create a glass object with a mandrel and a torch with the help of a flameworking instructor. This class will introduce you to the tools and equipment needed in glass flameworking while learning to make a glass floral bead. (The beads will need to be picked up days after the event, as glass needs to cool slowly in an annealing oven.)

No pre-requisites.

Glass Confections

Create with millefiori or dichroic glass to create a colorful one of a kind paperweight in this two hour hot shop class.  You will safely work with a BAGI instructor while you turn a steel rod with 2000°F of molten glass on the end and use basic glassblowing techniques. Fused Candy Dish

Everyone needs a place to put their sweets! Create a 6" x 6" candy dish. In this two hour fusing class you will learn how to cut and grind glass. The plate is then put into the kiln to fuse or "melt"  together. (The dish will need to be picked up days after the event, as the glass needs to be fired in the kiln and coldworked)

No pre-requisites.

To Register: Register online, call 408-993-2244  or send an e-mail to studio@bagi.org. Payment is required upon registration. We accept Visa, MasterCard & personal checks if received 2 weeks prior to the scheduled class.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made at 7 days prior to the first day of a class will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made 3 days prior to the first day of class will be issued a 50% refund. In the event that BAGI were to cancel a class(es) a full refund, for the class(es) will be issued.
Liability: Students must be 9+ years of age for glassblowing related classes. Students must be 10+ years of age for flameworking & kilnworking related classes. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a BAGI issued liability release form. Students must inform BAGI, at the time of registration, if they have special requirements due to health related conditions.
