Cassandra Straubing Casting
In July Cassandra taught a four day workshop focus on the basic process of glass casting and investment mold making. Students started out initially using wet clay to create a three-dimensional sculpture, incorporating textures from found objects and materials.
They then transform that same object into beautiful translucent glass using a plaster/silica investment mold process. Casandra then talked about the use of different colors, basic firing procedures, annealing theories and cold working for glass casting. |
