The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch® at Palo Alto Art Center
Over 30 California based artist in celebrated their unique glass blown pumpkins on display and for sale at BAGI’s and the Palo Alto Art Center’s Great Glass Pumpkin Patch 2006 event, making it one of our largest and most successful fundraising events ever. The Palo Alto Art Center's courtyard and lawns were awash with boundless amounts of vibrant pumpkins. Patrons were thrilled with the huge selection of spectacular pumpkins available to view and purchase.
The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch was in its 11th year. It in keeping with BAGI's mission "to make the celebration of glass art accessible to all and provide continued artistic, educational and intellectual growth to our members and the community" the 2006 pumpkin patch was a surprise and delight to all visitors. The event provided a channel for the public to experience glass art in a family-oriented environment while supporting local glass artists. Proceeds
benefited participating artists, BAGI's studio and various children's art programs at Palo Alto Art Center.
This year, the fundraiser its financial goals as well as introduced thousands of attendees to glass art. Approximately 4,000 pumpkins were sold. The patch continues to be a great way for BAGI to introduce new people to the beauty of glass art as well as the creative talents of our local glass blowing community. We are so grateful to all of the artist that make this event happen as well as the attendees that support their efforts.
