We are about 1 month away from the Great Glass Auction 2010. I spent time on the phone today with Kip Toner from Kip Toner Benefit Auctions preparing the live auction. Reviewing the pieces we have got Kip and me very excited. You can see some initial photos on the Auction webpage.
Great Bay Area talent participating includes Shaun Griffiths (back from his Fulbright), Jaime Guerrero, Kathleen Elliot (great new work from her), Jay Musler, Randy Strong, Susan Longini (who donated work from a new series), Mark Murai, Tom Upchurch, Candace Martin and Treg Silkwood, John Lewis, Melissa and Keith Bispo.
We have returning artists who have also been visiting artists - Jenny Pohlman and Sabrine Knowles, Richard Royal, John de Wit, Charles Savoie, Laura Donefer (via a generous donation from the Lagreids), and Randy Walker.
Marc Petrovic is a recent visiting artist new to the auction and we have several new contributing artists who we want to bring to BAGI in the future - Ethan Stern, Hiroshi Yamano, Mike Janis, Martin Janecky. Other artists Kip and I talked about were Paul Cunningham, Toland Sand, Elizabeth Ryland Mears, John Lewis, and Lionel Chapital.
It is an unbelievable line-up of great work .... and the range os retail values are from $100 - $14,000 with many tremendous pieces in the $1,000 - $5,000 range.
The event is on February 6th and we are getting a good response so please RSVP so we know you are coming.
